If you’re bored of the same old pizza brands, good news. Little Caesars has officially arrived in Malaysia, with its first outlet now open in Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

After years of seeing the brand pop up in American sitcoms, movies, and countless YouTube videos, we’re excited to finally see Little Caesars land on Malaysian shores.

Little Caesars officially opened its doors on 24 May 2026, marking the start of its Malaysian expansion, with more outlets expected to open in the coming months. According to the press release, it has already been confirmed that more outlets will arrive soon, with a Grand Opening Celebration planned for Bandar Puteri Puchong in July 2026.

The Malaysian outlet brings in some of Little Caesars’ signature favourites including the HOT-N-READY Classic Pepperoni Pizza and Crazy Puffs Pepperoni. Alongside its international bestsellers, the local menu will also feature flavours catered to Malaysian taste buds such as Chicken Hawaiian, 3 Cheese Edge to Edge, and Classic Veggie pizza.

Price wise, Little Caesars Malaysia, large 12-inch pizzas start from just RM22 for classics like Cheese, Pepperoni, and Veggie. Premium specialty pizzas with heavier toppings, such as the 3 Meat Treat and Beef Deluxe, go up to RM34.

History of Little Caesars

Founded in Detroit, Michigan back in 1959 by Mike and Marian Ilitch, Little Caesars started out as a small family-owned pizza shop before growing into the world’s largest family-owned pizza company. Today, the brand operates across 31 countries and territories worldwide, such as Singapore, Australia, Canada, Jamaica, Saudi Arabia, and more.

Classic Cheese Flavour

According to Little Caesars, Malaysia was chosen as part of the brand’s growing international expansion due to the country’s strong food culture and love for convenient, affordable meals. Which honestly makes sense because Malaysians treat food like a national sport.

Malaysia is a food lover’s paradise, with a diverse range of delicious food to excite your taste buds. While popular dishes like Nasi Lemak and Roti Canai often take the limelight, did you know that Chicken Chop was actually created in Malaysia?

The famous celebrity chef Dato Fazley Yaakob has teamed up with Knorr Malaysia in a search to uncover three exceptional but underrated chicken chop joints that are worth exploring. These eateries have not only captured the hearts of their loyal customers but have also received the esteemed title of being among the best in Malaysia.

With that said, here are the Top 3 Award-Winning Chicken Chop Places Recommended By Dato’ Fazley Yaakob:

1. Charlie’s Cafe

Nestled in a quiet housing area in Kuala Lumpur, Charlie’s Cafe has been serving up mouthwatering chicken chops since 2015! Dato Fazley Yaakob has praised Charlie’s Cafe for its juiciness and crispiness. It’s worth mentioning that Charlie’s Cafe Chicken Chop is also really big and affordably priced at RM26.90, with a complimentary Ice Lemon Tea.

The tender, juicy chicken paired with a generous portion of crispy fries or mashed potatoes and coleslaw makes for a hearty and satisfying meal.

What sets Charlie’s Cafe apart is their Chicken Chop sauce cooked using Sarawak Pepper, which gives a mild spicy kick. Its culinary prowess is undoubtedly deserving of accolades.

Address: 29, Jalan Bukit Desa 5, Taman Bukit Desa, 58100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur
Hours: 11 am to 3 pm (Closed on Sundays)
Delivery: 10 am to 6 pm (Daily)

2. Dioh Salai @ Ipoh

Dioh Salai, situated on the outskirts of Ipoh, has been in operation for almost a decade. Founded by Arriff, a young man from Negeri Sembilan who is passionate about fusion dishes.

“My wife gave me the idea to combine Chicken Chop with Salai (Smoked Meat) + Masak Lemak. I basically smoke my Chicken Chop for 1 & a half hours with mangrove wood and drench it in creamy & spicy masak lemak gravy,” Arriff said.

Dioh takes the classic chicken chop to new heights by infusing it with Negeri Sembilan’s rich heritage of spices and herbs. Dato Fazley Yaakob was captivated by Dioh Salai’s unique approach to chicken chop, which involves marinating the chicken in a blend of aromatic spices before smoking it to perfection.

The result is a succulent, aromatic Chicken Chop with creamy Masak Lemak sauce that will take your taste buds on a journey.

Address: Persiaran Sengat Baru 2 (Near Petronas), Taman Bersatu, 31300 Simpang Pulai, Perak

Hours: 12 pm – 8 pm

3. Paku & Pontianak KL @ Jalan Gurney, KL

Paku & Pontianak KL is a casual fine dining restaurant nestled in a bungalow house. Decorated with roses, vintage items, and black accent decor, this restaurant is themed after spooky Malay folklore and will definitely give you a unique and unforgettable dining experience. Furthermore, there are ample parking spaces, making it suitable as a venue for events and parties.

We sampled their award-winning Hainanese Chicken Chop, which is deep-fried until juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Unlike the usual Hainanese Chicken Chop, the culinary team at Paku & Pontianak has given this classic dish a twist by serving it with creamy and velvety tomato-based sauce, and topping it with peas, mushrooms, and fries. The result is a chicken chop that’s bursting with flavor.

Address: 21, Jln Gurney 2, Kampung Datuk Keramat, 54000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur

Hours: 11 am to 11:30 pm (Daily)

While Malaysia is known for its culinary diversity, it’s essential to celebrate the underrated gems that enrich the food scene. Dato Fazley Yaakob’s endorsement of Charlie’s Cafe, Dioh Salai, and Paku & Pontianak KL as the top three chicken chop places in Malaysia speaks volumes about their exceptional quality and unique flavors.

If you’re a foodie looking to embark on a culinary journey, be sure to explore these underrated but exceptional chicken chop establishments.

You’ve probably heard of Akka Nasi Lemak on social media, and for good reason. What started as a small Nasi Lemak stall in a quiet Seri Kembangan neighborhood has now expanded to serve over 500 customers, and she shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Where it all started

On earlier April 2023, we discovered a humble Indian lady selling nasi lemak from a social media post. We decided to film a short video introducing this place to all social media users.

Friendly Indian Lady Selling Nasi Lemak with Many Toppings at Seri Kembangan – Akka Nasi Lemak @ Seri Kembangan

Indian Nasi Lemak run by a friendly Akka in Seri Kembangan 💁🏽‍♀️😍

📍 Akka Nasi Lemak

[6AM-10AM]

Posted by Fun N’ Taste on Monday, 10 April 2023

While editing the video, we realized that the stall did not have any online presence, Google Map address, or even a name.

Hence, we decided to give it the name Akka Nasi Lemak and create a Google Map address so that people could navigate to this stall after watching our video. We called it Akka Nasi Lemak because the owner referred to all her lady customers as ‘Akka.’

The video blew up on our Facebook, TikTok, and even our neglected Instagram account. The stall was then featured on many media platforms such as Astro, THR Raaga, and countless random TikTok users.

The birth of Akka Nasi Lemak

Meet Sangeetha Manimalar, the 34-year-old mother who runs Akka Nasi Lemak. Having a hotel management background, the mother of two has been selling nasi lemak for more than 10 years. However, her stall instantly become a “viral” sensation on social media in the month of April, which falls on the Ramadan month.

Her dishes are abundance, you can find Ayam Masak Merah, Ayam Rendang, Ayam Goreng Berempah, Sambal Kerang and Sambal Sotong. No pork is used or serve in her stall. Furthermore she offers two types of sambal, spicy and normal, as well as two types of rice, namely santan rice and pandan rice.

A warrior in the culinary

Nothing great ever came that easy. According to Sangeetha’s interview in Astro Naavanil, she shared that her husband and children was met in an accident. The children have recovered but her husband is still on a recovering stage. But Sangeetha manages her life and the livelihood of her family with the little money earned.

When “Akka Nasi Lemak” started gaining popularity, it attracts all sort of walks, people around Selangor, KL and even Singapore, to line up starting at 12am just to get a taste of her food, almost equates to celebrity fans camp out for concert tickets.

With a sudden increase of customers, she has already enlisted some extra hands to help her. In particularly, her neighbour who’s a friendly Chinese aunty is helping her as well, without asking for single salary.

Unfazed by nonsense

It’s safe to assume that fame attract haters. Despite some mishaps during the stall, Akka Nasi Lemak is going strong. To ensure everyone customers who line up able to purchase her food, token will be given to everyone and every customer can buy maximum of 5 packets of nasi lemak.

Furthermore, Sangeetha’s news has caught attention of Vice-President of Angkatan Muda Keadilan Malaysia Thiban Subbramaniam to help in registry of her business.

Are you bored with the same old bar you’ve been patronising? Well, maybe it’s time to scout for a new place in town.

There’s no shortage of drinking spots in the city, however one with a state-of-the-art robotic arm bartender while you sip and unwind is not that common.

LAVO in Persiaran Tropicana may be familiar to many bar hoppers. They just recently introduced their very own robotic arm bartender named MixoBot. If you want killer cocktails and a killer bar, then this is the place.

Check Out MixoBot, LAVO’s First Robotic Bartender

How does it work, you may ask? Well, no joke, MixoBot can ensure a precise mix of ingredient ratio for a perfect glass of cocktail. MixoBot can be programmed by a professional world-class mixologist within minutes to deliver perfect cocktails every time, without fail.

“Flair bartending has always charmed restaurant patrons and MixoBot aims to do exactly that. Bartenders sometimes may not be as precise as a robot. Customers return drinks to the bar station due to ingredients proportioned that might not suit their taste. The returned drinks cost the bar money and we hope the MixoBot is able to help eliminate this problem – not only for us, but for the restaurants MixoBot serves,” shared by Benson Tay, Executive Director of Focus Dynamics, a fast-growing F&B, entertainment and lifestyle group that runs Lavo.

All you need to do is choose from the menu on iPad and let MixoBot do the rest. We can assure you, you are looking at the first robotic flair bartending in PJ where it can shake and mix drinks, just like a real bartender.

With its flexible arm, MixoBot uses cutting-edge technology, incorporating artificial intelligence to gather data, giving people a more precise and more refined drinking experience.

Good news that there are no additional charges when one orders a cocktail mixed by MixoBot.

So what are you waiting for? Come and experience the MixoBot in-person! Grab a cocktail and a seat, and drink it all in!

You may book a table at Lavo through the GemSpot and mobile application – available on Apple Store and the Google Play Store.

Junior Chellapa is a stylish Indian restaurant that specializes in authentic North and South Indian dishes. The restaurant boasts a beautiful décor, quality service and ingredients which is reflected in the dishes price.

Located at the 100-year-old Old Malaya Heritage Building in Lorong Raja Chulan, the most attention grabbing thing about Junior Chellapa is the restaurant’s beautiful Indian themed murals.

If you chose to dine outside, you can enjoy an uninterrupted view of the KL tower.

The menu at Junior Chellapa comprises dishes from both Northern and Southern regions. You can expect a variety of naan, tandoori, poultries, seafood, biryanis and desserts here.

We started our meal with the highly recommended house special Lamb Ribs (RM39), which comes with 3 pieces of New Zealand ribs cooked in tomato masala gravy. The lamb ribs itself was flavourful and fall-off-bone tender, while the gravy was unbelievably thick. We personally felt this dish went well with their Pudina Naan (RM8).

No Indian meal is complete without Palak Paneer (RM18), a classic North Indian vegetarian dish made from blended spinach, lots of ghee, spices, and generous blocks of cottage cheese. The chef certainly didn’t hold back on the ghee, making the gravy thick, flavourful and rich.

The Chicken Pasanda (RM39) came highly recommended by the owners. It is made with chicken tenderized in yoghurt, chillies, cumin, and peppercorns, then cooked in the creamy pasanda sauce. If you prefer something more tame, this dish is right up your alley.

One of Junior Chellapa’s best signature dish is the Exotic Tandoor & Hot Platter (Senior)(RM80), a sharing dishes that could serve up to 4 -5 people. It’s basically a variety of tandoor meat dishes – chicken tikka, fish tikka, malai tikka, seekh kebab, grilled prawns, and grilled squid.

All ingredients were fresh and flavoursome. We personally felt the prawns are the best part of this dishes as the tandoori flavours was perfectly immersed.

Moving onto the seafood dishes, we also sampled the Sultani Grilled Prawns (RM39), Chellapa’s Pomfret (RM48), and Nandu Rasam (RM12). Chellapa’s Pomfret felt a tad dry because we expected the fish to be moist and soft. Nonetheless, the flavouring was good and had a good spicy kick.

Wash down all the spices with Mango Lassi (RM9) and Lime Juice (RM9).

Before coming here, we’ve heard nothing but positive reviews about the popular Chuan Lee Char Kuey Teow in Section 11 Petaling Jaya. Despite our high expectations, we are happy to say the Char Kuey Teow was indeed unbelievably delicious.

The uncle who mans the wok is infamous for being extremely grumpy and short temper, especially during peak hours. You are not allowed to make orders to him, if you do so be prepared to be shouted at. His helper (assuming his brother) is the one who handles the orders, money and servings.

Apparently, you are also not allowed to ask for extra toppings (expect for eggs) or customize the spiciness level of your Char Kuey Teow. However we saw a couple of customers requested for customize toppings and spiciness level which the helper obliges to.

A small serving Char Kuey Teow cost RM6 while the large one is RM7. The large Char Kuey Teow here is fairly big and can be quite filling even if you are a big eater.

The Kuey Teow noodles were moist and loose with an amazing “wok hei” flavours which you can smell and taste. The grumpy uncle was indeed skilful in controlling the heat and wok which made the noodles charred but not burnt surface with a strong smoky aroma.

Although the prawns used were farmed cultured prawns which aren’t up to par, the Char Kuey Teow here is still absolutely delicious and deep in flavours.

Overall, we were satisfied with the taste and we could see why Chuan Lee Char Kuey Teow has the reputation of serving the best Char Kuey Teow in Petaling Jaya. For those who prefer taste over service, we highly recommend you to put this on your list. You won’t regret it.

James Bond Fried Kuey Teow is a popular Char Koay Teow stall in Petaling Jaya mainly due to its unique name. The stall is located in a corner coffee shop called Station 8 in SS2, and it is perhaps the most attention grabbing stall among all with a yellow colour banner with the iconic James Bond logo.

The uncle behind the stall “Mr Bond” has been cooking Char Koay Teow for more than 30 years. His real name is Peter Tan but most people just call him Mr.James, or Mr.Tan. Sometimes his worker will do the cooking when “Mr Bond” is out to source fresh ingredients himself, which often results in a nice plate of Char Kuey Teow with fresh ingredients.

A plate of Char Kuey Teow (B) here cost RM7 and it comes with usual egg, fresh cockles, fish cakes and 4 large prawns which is something you don’t usually see in regular Char Koay Teow dishes. FYI, request for additional toppings of prawns, cockles, bean sprout will be denied. Also, we weren’t too sure if it was being done deliberate, but there were no Chinese sausage in James Bond Char Koay Teow.

Unfortunately we were there too early and the cockles aren’t fully defrosted yet hence our CKT didn’t come with it.

While nowhere on the level of Penang, the CKT here still tasted pretty delicious. The dish was packed with strong flavours and it was one of the most satisfying plate of CKT we’ve had in a long time. It’s worth mentioning Uncle James adds a “top secret” homemade chilli sauce while cooking his CKT which gives a spicy kick.

Although the dish was quite aromatic and moderately delicious, it’s still not the best as the CKT here lacks of wok hei. However the main attraction of James Bond CKT is certainly the name of the stall and the generous amounts of toppings. Portion size was quite satisfying as we felt full after finishing our plate.

It’s safe to say one of the Penang delicacies that Penangite miss most from home is Prawn Mee. Lucky for those who stay nearby Seapark, there is one Prawn Mee truck that sell incredibly delicious prawn mee which comes really close to what’s found in the alleys of  Penang’s.

Do a quick Google search on where to get Penang styled prawn mee in Petaling Jaya and chances are Aik Prawn Mee will be first in your search result.

Located outside of the Sea Park wet market, Aik Prawn Mee was filled with customers even during non lunch hours. Despite the large crowd we never had any problems with the service. The friendly uncle who makes the Prawn Mee dishes was super fast and efficient.  Our Prawn Mee was sent to our table within 5 minutes of ordering.

A bowl of Prawn Mee (RM6.50) here comes with fried onions, prawns, kangkung, pork slices, and bean sprouts. We prefer our prawn mee with yellow noodle and vermicelli as both combination gave a good texture in our opinion.

Upon first sip of the broth, it was sweet and packed with strong prawn flavours. The dish was not spicy at all despite mixing it with the chilli given. As for the ingredients, we thought it were quite less especially with a price tag of RM6.50, the noodles occupied almost three-quarter of the dish.

Verdict

On a positive note we enjoyed the Prawn Mee here. It’s certainly one of the most authentic Penang-style Prawn Mee you can find in the Klang Valley. While the topping isn’t sufficient, you may opt to add extra prawns for an extra RM2. It is worth mentioning that Aik Prawn Mee also sells Assam Laksa which is highly raved among customers.

Dining here could get a little humid, hence feel free to order some drinks or Ice Kacang to beat the afternoon heat. Beware of the price, as a simple Limau Ice cost RM2.50 and a bowl of Ice Kacang cost a whopping RM5.

There are lots of delicious nasi lemak stalls around Petaling Jaya area such as Nasi Lemak Bumbung and Nasi Lemak Kukus SS12.  Joining this list is Nasi Lemak Goreng Chef Fauzy, a household name in Petaling Jaya which had recently caught our attention due to its unique twist of this widely beloved dish.

Since 2011, Chef Fauzy has appeared on TV, magazine and newspaper write up countless times. Despite his stall’s popularity, he is still humble and friendly towards his customers. He saw us with a tripod and camera, and can’t help but to ask us our opinion in this dish. This shows how much he care about his craft. We definitely admire chef who ask for room for improvement.

Chef Fauzey sell fried nasi lemak, or more commonly known as nasi lemak goreng. Located behind a bus station at Jalan Othman, Petaling Jaya, Nasi Lemak Goreng Chef Fauzy whips up one of the most interesting  modification of nasi lemak dish. Instead of serving regular santan rice, they fried the santan rice with their homemade sambal sauce over a hot wok. It’s also worth mentioning that the sambal here is cooked for 4 hours every morning.

A standard plate of Nasi Lemak Goreng with fried chicken cost RM8 which is topped with cucumbers and soft boil egg.

The rice was soft and moist, packed with “wok hei” flavour. It was a tad bit spicy and clearly the best part of the entire dish. Having a “wok hei” flavoured sambal rice instead of regular nasi lemak rice was certainly an interesting experience.

The sambal was super spicy and flavoursome, will certainly please spicy food lovers. It should satisfy your palates if you enjoy the spicy kick of sambal. The fried chicken was double fried to ensure crispiness while maintaining the moist on the inside. Personally we felt there was nothing too special about the spicy but it’s still good enough.

If you are not adventurous enough you may opt for the regular Nasi Lemak Kukus (RM7) which was pretty good as well.

Verdict

Although the pricing is on the higher side for a food truck, Nasi Lemak Goreng Chef Fauzy is one of the better nasi lemak we have tried in Petaling Jaya.

Our colleague preferred the regular Nasi Lemak Kukus compared to the Nasi Lemak Goreng as he described the dish was “a little less heavy, and balanced out the greasiness of the rempah.” If you are conscious with what goes in your mouth, you know which one to pick.

Malgudi Classic Indian Cuisine is a semi fine dining restaurant that serves both North and South Indian cuisine. It is located minutes away from Jaya One, tucked in quiet alley at Section 16 PJ.

The name Malgudi is adopted from novels and short stories of novelist R.K. Narayan, which is actually a fictional town located in South India.

One thing to note about Malgudi is that it is a high end restaurant and the quality and prices reflects on that.

We started off with their appetizer. The Vegetable Pakora which came with mostly crispy bitter gourd and onions.

The Lollypop Chicken (RM16) is made with chilli, onion, and garlic based gravy and spices topped with spring onions. While it looked really spicy it was surprisingly not punishingly hot. In fact, this dish was slightly on the sweeter side.

We were told by the owner that Thali is modernize version of Banana Leaf Rice. And since no Indian food is complete without curry and rice, we tried the Chicken Thali (RM15.90).

This dish came with white rice and multiple sides and gravies including – lenthil gravy, rasam, vegetables, chicken, curd, papadam, pickle, and gulab jamun. We feel the need to mention that the rice was incredible fluffy which made our eating experience so much tastier.

The dishes on the side were pretty good too. In particular lenthil gravy was thick and creamy. The curries were quite flavourful and delicious.

Do note that the thali sets are only available weekdays from 12PM to 330pm.

Another meat-based dish we had was Mutton Masala (RM19). The mutton was nicely cooked as it was tender and flavourful with marinated spices and dry chillies. The spiciness of the gravy was mild from the red chilli paste.

Salted Egg Chicken Briyani was something unconventional prepared by Malgudi to welcome the Chinese New Year. The Briyani came with generous portion chicken slices that had been marinated with salted egg. The salted egg flavour was mild, not over empowering the aroma of Briyani.

Despite the hefty price, Nandu Rasam (RM8) a.k.a crab rasam was one of the highlights here. It was made to perfection as the crab flavours were strong and the soup was tangy.

Malgudi also offer a wide variety of drinks and desserts. We highly recommend the Kulfi (RM7.50), also known as Indian-style ice cream. It was sweet and had a rich and creamy texture, the perfect way to end a spicy meal.

Verdict

Malgudi is certainly one of the better semi fine dining Indian restaurants in Petaling Jaya. The restaurant has a vintage look to it and it is a relaxing place for lunch or dinner. The Chicken Thali in particular was amazing. We will definitely be dropping by Malgudi pretty soon.

PS: Malgudi’s has dedicated its second floor of the building for private parties and events of up to 55 pax.
