3. Farm In The City

An ideal half-day weekend getaway spot for animal-lovers from the hustle bustle city. Located in Seri Kembangan, Farm In The City is the place for visitors with children who want to enjoy a non-traditional zoo experience and you can walk with the free-roaming animals. Combined with lush greenery and flowers, you can find a wide range of species at the animal farm including birds, reptiles, monkeys, rabbits and more. In addition, there are alpacas, Falabella horse, Wallaby kangaroos and raccoons.

4. Paya Indah Wetlands

Paya Indah Wet Lands is a nice and peaceful sanctuary near Dengkil (15 minutes away from Putrajaya), which is occupied by countless species of birds and animals such as Nile hippos, crocodiles, tortoises, pelicans, porcupines and more. If you are there early, you can get to watch Hippopotamus and Crocodile feeding for free. Bicycle rental, guided tours and accommodation are also available for longer visits in this location.

5. Kuala Lumpur Bird Park

A must go place for you and your family staying in Kuala Lumpur for good or holidays. It is a home to more than 3,000 local and foreign birds of approximately 200 different species. perfect for families who love roaming with the birds with an experience that closely resembles life in a tropical rainforest. Visit Hornbill restaurant located next to the Bird Park, and sometimes you get to see Hornbills as you and your family are eating in the restaurant.

6. Funtopia Courtyard

Looking for challenges? Are your kids adventure seekers? Then you must visit Funtopia.

Funtopia is an indoor colourful climbing centre located in a neighbourhood mall in Subang Jaya. The kids start off by getting kitted out with harnesses and helmet and watching a short video explaining safety rules and the system. Challenge your kids with the scariest attraction among the others – the giant slide (Extra fee incurred) or enjoy the mid-sized maze suitable for younger kids, good for siblings waiting out while the older ones climb walls.

7. Aquaria KLCC

Forget about “Baby Shark” on TV for once and enjoy the state-of-the-art aquarium, with over 150 species of marine life, its star attractions include scary tiger sharks, lethal sea snakes, blue rays, bright coral fish, seahorse and more, beneath the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and a stone’s throw from the iconic Twin Towers.

Perfect place for a family outing for about 2 hours and you can enjoy some retail therapy at Suria KLCC shopping centre and marvel at the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, both accessible via a covered walkway situated in the aquarium.

8. Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park

Not a fan of birds? If so, you and your family can visit Butterfly Park which is located 3 mins away from Kuala Lumpur Bird Park.

It is said that this park is the largest butterfly garden in the world spanning over 80,000 sq feet of landscaped garden with over 5,000 live butterflies, exotic plants, butterfly-host plants and ferns. This full of fluttering wings space is good enough for even toddlers to walk and enjoy the view.  You must also visit the museum with a large collection of butterflies and insects from around the world.

9. Waka Waka

Located at Furama Bukit Bintang, Waka Waka is a safari-themed indoor park features fun activities and play areas that are excellent for the kids. There’s a spacious corner in the indoor park comes with sandpits, small slides, and more that are geared towards children 90cm and under. For the older ones, challenge them with the thrilling rope course of Adventure Cove.

10. Zoo Negara

Open for visitors since 1963, Zoo Negara is one of the oldest zoos in Southeast Asia. Today, Zoo Negara houses 400 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish and covers an area of about 110 acres making it Malaysia’s biggest zoo. Some of the exhibits at Zoo Negara are pandas, orang utans, Humboldt penguins, African Lions, giraffes and elephants. There are animal feeding sessions and performance scheduled throughout the day, which makes a popular weekend and school holiday outing spot amongst animal lovers.
